iPod vs. Oven: Guess who won?
My sister recently dropped her iPod in the oven. It’s pictured above, post-char.
Apparently, while baking cookies and “jamming to some Janis,” she set her iPod on the counter and opened the oven. Since her iPod was still attached to her headphone cord, when she straightened up over the open door of the 350-degree oven, the iPod came with her—until it didn’t. It fell into the oven and got wedged underneath the heating coils. With hotpad and spatula my sister managed to get it out but not before some damage had been done.
The amazing thing is that despite getting all hot and melty in the oven and having endured a few years of non-oven-based abuse, the iPod still actually works. I may not always be their biggest fan—more on that in another post—but Apple, I salute you.
