Thanks to @benrubinstein for reminding me of this excellent Daily Show takedown of the 30 Republican Senators who voted “No” on a bill requiring the government to withhold defense contracts from companies like Halliburton if they restrict their employees from taking workplace sexual assault, battery, and discrimination cases to court.
You read that correctly. These senators believe it’s okay for the government to offer contracts to companies that forbid employees who have been assaulted, raped, beaten, or discriminated against from holding their employer liable.
It’s absolutely outrageous. If you believe in the rights of victims, please spread the word—and if these senators are representing you, voice your opposition. I’d like the “real” media to hold these senators’ feet to the fire.
